High school (Secondary Education) in the United States

• Calculated from grade 9 to grade 12, students typically aged 14/15 years old to 17/18.
• After graduating from grade 12, students are given a ijasah high school (high school diploma).
• Students who have not received a high school ijasah can take an exam of General Education Development (GED), which is the certification of academic ability for high school level.

Post Secondary Education in the United States

Students must have a ijasah high school or GED for College Undergraduates in an American college or University. Students will get a Bachelor's degree after 4 years of college or earn an Associate degree after 2 years.

Associate Degree

An Associate degree can be a transfer program (the first two years of the Undergraduate program) or indeed a 2-year program to prepare students for a particular career.

• Lecture two years in community college or private college.
• Types of degrees: Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS).
• Students can continue with college transfer to a college or University with an Undergraduate college program which lasts 4 years.

Students who have a Bachelor's degree may continue their education to Master degree or Doctoral (PhD).
